The Dorsale central workshop in Salzinnes (Namur) specialises in major overhauls or modernisations of locomotives.

The Dorsale central workshop handles the whole locomotive, from the incoming inspection to the final test and return to service

Thanks to a 110-tonne overhead crane and 25-metre tracks, the workshop can handle any type of vehicle and they can be moved to dedicated bodywork or dry ice blasting stands.

Two paint cabins, each 25 m long, are equipped for both solvent-based and waterborne paints, and are linked to a polyester parts repair workshop.

A four-voltage catenary test (1.5 kV DC, 3 kV DC, 15 kV AC and 25 kV AC) allows tests to be carried out on-site that can then be supplemented with load tests on the network.

There is also a specialist industrialisation team in the workshop to support the production teams. This team is then supported by an internal drawing office able to develop new repair solutions or redesign old components.
