General remote sales conditions

These conditions apply to all remote sales, on the website or via the SNCB App.

§1. This platform (website or mobile phone application) is owned by the Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Belges (hereinafter referred to as 'the SNCB'), S.A. de droit public (state-owned enterprise), with its registered office established at Rue de France 56, 1060 Brussels, VAT No BE 203.430.576, registered with the Belgian Companies Database (BCE) in Brussels under number 0203.430.576.

§2. As well as the address set forth above, the SNCB may be contacted as follows:

  • Tel.: +32(0) 2 528 28 28 (7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., standard national rates apply)
  • Email: [email protected]. For faster processing of your request, we recommend using our contact form.

By purchasing a ticket or another product through this platform, you acknowledge that you are able to:

  • enter into contractual agreements under the civil code.
  • assume liability for any financial transactions concerning the use of this platform, including those made on behalf of a third party.

§1. By purchasing a ticket or another product through this platform, you confirm acknowledgement of the sales conditions below and have accepted them prior to purchase.

§2. By purchasing a ticket through this platform, a transport contract is concluded between the SNCB and the ticket holder. The SNCB’s General and Special Travel Terms & Conditions shall apply to this contract. You may consult these terms on our sncb.be website or at each train station manned by ticket sales staff.

§3. By purchasing another product through this platform, special terms regarding the use of this product may apply.

§1. Before confirming your order, you are responsible for ensuring that the chosen product corresponds with your indications and meets your requirements (product type, date, personal information, etc.).

§2. Under no circumstances can lost or stolen travel tickets or other products be exchanged or reimbursed.

§3. You are not entitled to any further reductions after a travel ticket or other product has already been purchased.

§4. Tickets purchased remotely are named tickets and are therefore not transferable. They are not refundable or exchangeable.

§5. The rules relating to the conditions of use and after sales service are set forth in the Special travel terms and conditions.

Pursuant to Article VI.53, 12° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, customers have no right to cancel the purchase.

§1. The price of travel tickets and other products is inclusive of VAT. The accepted payment methods are stated on the platform used.

The SNCB reserves the right to refuse or suspend an order request or to make it subject to additional conditions where:

  • the information provided during the request is incomplete or incorrect.
  • the SNCB suspects some form of fraud or deceit, for example where the customer’s identity is in doubt or potentially incorrect.

§1. When purchasing a ticket in PDF format, this ticket is sent to you via the browser and by email.

§2. For electronic identity card tickets, confirmation is sent to your email address, along with an order summary. No ticket will be sent.

§3. Season ticket validations are loaded onto the user’s MoBIB card.

Purchasing a travel ticket or other product in the mobile application results in the generation of a 2D barcode within the application itself.

If you have not received the confirmation email within ten minutes of placing the order or if you have had to repurchase a travel ticket or other product as a result of a technical problem attributable to the SNCB, you can contact the SNCB’s Customer Service (from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) on +32(0)2 528 28 28 or fill in the online contact form. In this case, the SNCB’s liability is in any event limited to the reimbursement of the undelivered product. In all cases, the SNCB is not liable to compensate for indirect, unforeseen or immaterial damages. The SNCB shall not compensate for damage caused to third parties and shall not be expected to safeguard them. The limits of the SNCB’s liability shall not apply wherever they are prohibited by mandatory legal or regulatory provisions.

We process your personal data. You may consult the SNCB’s data protection policy applicable to this platform when purchasing a ticket online and at www.sncb.be/privacy or upon request at the ticket counters.

These sales conditions are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute concerning the validity, interpretation or implementation of these sales conditions, the Brussels law courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
