The Interreg Community Initiative, or Interreg for short, is a European programme financed by the European Union, in particular the European Regional Development Fund, which aims to promote cooperation between regions in different countries. The EMR Connect project is part of this and aims to meet the cross-border challenges that currently exist in the field of public transport and free movement in the Meuse-Rhine European Region. The project aims to achieve this objective through the practical cooperation of 11 transport authorities, political bodies and universities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Within the framework of 4 themed action groups, the partnership aims to develop a large number of new products, services and tools to improve cross-border movement within the EMR (Meuse-Rhine European Region). SNCB/NMBS is studying the options for improving the cross-border services offered in Aachen and the surrounding area. For more information visit: emr-connect.eu
