Drafts
How a work of art is created? The RMFAB attempts to answer this question with the DRAFTS exhibition, devoted to the art of sketches.
A circuit of some hundred artworks takes visitors into the intimacy of the creative process, inviting them to the art studio in an attempt to grasp the very soul of the work, the first idea laid down on a blank sheet of paper, a plank of wood or a piece of cardboard. It's a discovery, offering a new perspective on the work behind the scenes of iconic artists from Rogier van der Weyden and James Ensor to Rembrandt, Rubens and Magritte. This unique exhibition also marks the culmination of a major restoration campaign carried out by the RMFAB over a period of almost 2 years.
