Preventive and corrective maintenance

Thanks to its nine traction workshops spread across the country, SNCB is able to offer different levels of preventive and/or corrective maintenance on electric or diesel locomotives. The range of services can go from a simple sand or diesel replenishment to a global maintenance contract:

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of locomotives (incl. TBL1+ safety systems, ETCS, ATB, Indus, GSM R, KBV, etc.)
• Lifting work: changing bogies, transformers, etc.
• Bogie repairs: exchange of main components such as axles
  
  
  
  
• Disassembly / reassembly of components
• Inspection and work on roofs
• Inspection and work in pits
• Hotline and mobile interventions
• Weighing of locomotives
• Locomotive cleaning and removal of graffiti — in the workshop or using mobile teams 
• Retouching and paint work
• Transition to underfloor wheel lathe in or near the workshop
  
  
  
  
• Welding (according to EN 15085 standard)
• Non-destructive testing (according to ISO 9712 + DIN 27201 7 standards)
• Bonding of Windscreens and pannels (following norm EN 17460)
• Load test on diesel locomotives with Certified load bank
