Organisation of the Belgian railways
The Belgian railways, with the Belgian state as its main shareholder, are made up of 3 full entities in their own right:
- SNCB: transporter or operator, which organises and markets the rail service. SNCB is also responsible for the maintenance and refurbishment of trains and of 551 stations.
- Infrabel: operator managing Belgian rail infrastructure (More info (French version))
- HR Rail: statutory employer for all of the personnel in the Belgian Railways. As such, it is HR Rail intention to provide modern human resources management in every sense. (More info (French version))

SNCB is made up of 5 directorates. Each one has its own objectives and does everything to implement them.
In addition to its 5 operational directorates, SNCB has at its disposal services corporate services tasked with assisting the directorates in their activities.
