Practical info

Apply for a Preferential Reimbursement Discount Card online through your My SNCB account or at the ticket office of any station you choose.

At the ticket office of a station of your choice, simply present your ID card and your personalized MoBIB card (from SNCB/NMBS, STIB/MIVB, TEC, or De Lijn). Don't have a MoBIB card yet? Request a new one for €6.

The counter clerk will check your request by connecting to the Social Security Crossroads Database. In the Social Security Crossroads Database, personal social data is kept and managed by the mutual insurance company concerned. If the database provides a positive response, your discount card will be placed in your MoBIB card.

If you have a personalized STIB/MIVB MoBIB card (with your name and a photo of yourself on it), register it in our systems before requesting your Preferential Reimbursement Discount Card online.

If you don't have a personalized MoBIB card, you can also order one online.

Renew your Preferential Reimbursement Discount Card online through your My SNCB account or at the ticket counter with your MoBIB card. Renew your card:
  • each year if you are under 65
  • every 5 years if you are 65 or older

If your MoBIB card is lost, stolen, expired or damaged, you can get a new one online via your MySNCB account or by going to one of our ticket counters. The issuing cost is €6.
