Offer free home-to-work travel in 2nd class
As a private sector employer, you are already obliged to contribute at least 71.8% of the cost of your employees' home-to-work train journeys. The SNCB's Mobility Pack gives you the opportunity to offer your employees free rail travel by increasing your contribution by just 8.2%, thanks to state aid.
In concrete terms, if you choose to increase your employer's contribution from 71.8% to 80%, the State will cover the remaining 20%. This means your employees can travel by train for free. Use our comparison tool to find out how much it would cost you to offer your staff free rail travel.
You'll boost your attractiveness as an employer, and your brand image, by focusing on environmentally-friendly and sustainable transport.

Many other advantages
To benefit from the 80/20 Third-Party Pay scheme, all you have to do is subscribe to a Mobility Pack.
You'll benefit from a host of other advantages:
- Your employer's contribution is billed directly to you each month, with the 20% paid by the State automatically deducted. This means that your employees no longer have to pay the cost of their season ticket in advance, and you no longer have to manage reimbursements, which considerably reduces your administrative burden.
- You can manage all your public transport season tickets (SNCB, STIB, TEC and De Lijn) from your Business Portal, using a single contract.
- 100% deductible employer contribution and 6% recoverable VAT if your employees opt for flat-rate deductibility of business expenses.
